WSU Research Foundation

The Washington State University Research Foundation (WSURF) is a non-profit Washington corporation whose mission is to facilitate the efficient transfer of technology, proprietary information, and inventions from Washington State University (WSU) to the private sector thus benefiting University, the inventors and society.

While our primary function is to license technologies to private sector businesses, we do assist faculty in finding investors for regional and local startup companies. In some cases, we provide funding to assist in the commercial development of 'near market' technologies.

This site is designed to serve both the private sector companies looking to evaluate University technology and WSU faculty and staff who are interested in moving their technologies to the marketplace.

Private sector companies should visit the 'For Industry' page, to search for licensing opportunities, to review our draft agreements, and to read about our typical licensing process. You can also join our mailing list to be contacted when new technologies become available.

For WSU faculty and staff, we provide extensive information on the process of technology transfer, patenting and licensing. Some detail is provided within the 'For Inventors' page, while more comprehensive information is available on our Links page and in the FAQ's section.

WSURF is located in the WSU Research and Technology Park in Pullman, WA. A map to help locate us can be found here.
