Lewis Rumpler
Lewis is currently an Entrepreneur in Residence at Washington State University (WSU), working to support the successful commercialization of technology generated from the significant research enterprise at WSU. Prior to this, Lewis was Executive Vice President of Business Development at Signature Genomic Laboratories (SGL). SGL was the leading provider of molecular genetic testing for pre and postnatal constitutional disorders. Lewis was part of an executive team that managed the recent sale of SGL to PerkinElmer, a publicly traded life science company. Lewis has held additional life science leadership positions in the region including: Chief Operating Officer of the Institute for Systems Medicine Planning Authority, Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Northwest Biotechnology and CEO of INTEC, an super-regional economic development initiative.
Prior to working in the Spokane Region Lewis was Assistant to the President of Biogenex Laboratories, Inc. a biotech company focused on in-vitro diagnostics in the San Francisco Area. Other positions held included Vice President of Business Development and Director for Neuromedica, Inc. a neuroscience biotechnology company located in Cambridge, MA and founder and CEO of Zoologix, an infectious disease biotechnology company. Lewis has over 25 years of corporate governance experience in a diverse set of industries and has been an entrepreneur working on three biotechnology start-ups.
Lewis is a graduate of the University of Washington, with a Bachelor of Science degree in cellular and molecular biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in zoology.
Lewis is married with two adventurous boys and the family loves to travel, is active in the outdoors and pursues fly-fishing with a passion in both fresh and salt water.
