Robert E. Schilling

Picture of Brian Kraft

Robert’s background encompasses 25+ years as a serial entrepreneur, recognizing and monetizing opportunities in multiple markets including technology, software, chemical, consumer product and food and beverage. Founding his first company at the age of 15, and executing his first successful exit at 18, Robert has had products and technologies acquired or integrated into corporations and organizations including Formica Industries, Napster, GE and the National Security Agency.

Robert is a co-founder of Mayfield Bioscience, Inc. where he currently serves as President & COO. Mayfield is an early stage life science company focused on commercializing the research of Dr. John Alderete in the development of global screening diagnostics for trichomoniasis. With over 180 million global infections annually, and 8 million in the US, Trichomonaisis is the world’s most prevalent sexually transmitted infection, with disease associations that include cervical cancer, prostate cancer, infertility, adverse pregnancy outcomes and increased susceptibility to HIV.

A resident of Menlo Park, CA, Robert is also available to work with WSURF technologists and EIRs to represent projects in the San Francisco Bay Area.

A consummate builder, when Robert isn’t focused on building companies, products and brands he might be found restoring a vintage automobile, cooking a gourmet meal, crushing grapes, or drafting an architectural plan for another iteration of his future dream home.
