Katrina Mealey

Dr. Mealey currently is a Professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences and is the Director of the Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology Laboratory at Washington State University. She obtained a degree in Pharmacy from the University of New Mexico and earned her DVM from Colorado State University. After completing a small animal internship at the University of Minnesota, she continued her training at Texas A&M University where she completed two residencies, one in small animal internal medicine and the other in veterinary clinical pharmacology. She also received a PhD in Pharmacology from Texas A&M University. Dr. Mealey’s primary research interest is veterinary pharmacogenetics.

Dr. Mealey has served on advisory boards for both industry (IDEXX, Bayer Animal Health) and governmental agencies (FDA, USP), and has served on editorial boards for a number of veterinary journals. Dr. Mealey has published more than 100 refereed and proceedings articles and holds patents related to her research in veterinary genetics and pharmacogenetics.
